"Everything begins with the resolve to take the first step. From that action, wisdom arises and change begins. Without action, nothing changes." – Daisaku Ikeda

It may be that you are feeling overwhelmed by a difficult decision, experiencing problems at work, in relationships or with your health. Things may have happened in the past, which you feel stop you from moving forward.

Counselling can help in a number of ways:

There are many different reasons for seeking counselling and I am happy to discuss this with you.

"People start to heal the moment they feel heard." – Cheryl Strayed

I am an integrative counsellor and mainly work under a person centred approach.

I am an integrative counsellor which means that I may use a range of approaches with you in your journey of self discovery, which suits you. I am holistic and compassion focused and I offer a safe, non-judgemental space for you to be able to share what is troubling you.

I am aware that meeting someone for the first time and talking about what’s going on can be a difficult first step to take. I offer an empathetic and personalised approach to help you in what you’re going through.

We can discuss how long you may benefit from counselling for, however it can be an ongoing process. We will have a review every six sessions to see how things are going for you. The process is a collaborative process and I am a facilitator to help you explore your feelings, and I believe in helping you to explore your inner world and facilitate change.

Issues that can I deal with are:

Fees

Individual counselling £45 an hour. Trainee counsellors and NHS staff £35 an hour. Conccession rates are available.

I completed my counselling training after working as an occupational therapist for over 10 years for the NHS in hospital and community settings with clients of a varied age range. From this, I realised the importance of listening and wanted to help people help themselves through their own individual emotional and physical problems. This has given me a wealth of knowledge of different health conditions and an understanding of the impact this can have on daily life.

"You can often change your circumstances by changing your attitude." – Eleanor Roosevelt

I have experience of working as a counsellor within a university counselling service to students and for a charity offering long term counselling for people on low incomes. This has led me to setting up my own private practice as a counsellor.
